Easily create matters straight from your inbox

The Plexus email plugin allows you to simplify your matter management intake process. Whilst we always recommend encouraging end users to use Plexus directly, there may be those who prefer to email you instead.

Where this is the case, you can use our plugins to easily transfer that information straight into a matter. You can use the Plexus matter management plug-in for:


Installing the Matter Management plug-in for Gmail


Click the link to view the Matter Management plug-in for Google Suite Marketplace for Gmail. Then click the button to Install.


Installing the Matter Management plug-in for Outlook


Click the link to the Plexus browser add-on from Microsoft AppSource for Outlook 365. Then click Get it now.

Alternatively, you can open any email from your Microsoft Outlook app and select See more items […] in the toolbar. Then click Get Add-ins.

Using the search bar in the top right of the screen, search for Plexus.

Then follow the prompts to install the Plexus add-in for outlook.


Creating a matter from your email


When you receive an email you'd like to transfer into Plexus, click the Plexus plug-in from within your email provider.

Whilst the button will show with the Plexus logo on the right hand side of the screen in Gmail, you'll need to click the [...] button on any email from Microsoft 365, selecting Plexus to initiate the application.

For a first time user, the plug-in will prompt you to log into your Plexus account. You should see something like this:

Step 3. The plug-in will open an intake form, similar to the one you would see in Plexus. Select the matter category and sub-category from the dropdown. The text from the email body forms the basis for your matter description. You may edit this, and any other matter information as required by the form.

Step 4. Any attachments in the email will be automatically pulled in as supporting material. You can deselect these using the checkboxes at the bottom of the form before you create the matter if you wish.

Step 5. Click Create Matter. The button will seamlessly sync the matter to Plexus.


Adding emails to an existing matter


For a fuss-free way to link emails to existing matters in Plexus, click your Plexus plug-in from your email client. Then log into the plug-in.

Click the three dots to open the menu. Click Add to existing task.

Select the desired matter from the task dropdown.

By default, Plexus will include the text in your email. You can modify this as required.

Click the relevant checkboxes to upload any supporting material straight from your email to your matter.

Then click Update task. And you're done!

When you log into Plexus, your changes will appear on your matter's activity feed.
