Create new matters for legal to triage and respond to using the Request legal support app

Streamline your organisation's legal intake with powerful briefing tools that replace back-and-forth fact collection. If you need to request support from the legal team, start by filling in your digital brief.


Creating your matter


Our intake forms allow you to capture better briefs with less effort, so that you can reach resolutions faster.

Step 1. To get started, select the Request legal support application from your dashboard.

Step 2. Give your matter a unique name that will:

  • Help your lawyers to understand the context of the problem at a glance

  • Make it easier for you to search for and find your matter later

Step 3. Then select the category and sub-category for your matter, using the available dropdown fields. This will help the legal team to ask the right questions and to triage the query to the right person.

Step 4. Click Next to continue.

Step 5. In the following section, provide as much detail about your matter as you can. We have a dedicated details section where you can provide a broad overview of the matter.


In some instances, you might find that your organisation asks you additional targeted questions to help capture specific responses about your request.

Top tip! The more information you provide about your request, the easier it will be to have legal provide you with succinct advice.

If at any point you need to start again, click the Start a new submission button at the top of the screen, then click Start again.

In addition to any custom questions, standard questions that you will be prompted to answer include:

  • When you need a response by

  • Financial value

  • Whether any other parties are involved

  • Whether you're lodging a query on behalf of someone else

  • Whether you have any relevant documentation or supporting material to upload with your query

When uploading your documentation, you will need to distinguish between a main document and other supporting materials. For those companies opted into AI Features, the main document will be analysed for your legal team using AI.

You can also link to any existing documents that are visible to you from the Plexus document list.

Top tip! Drafts of your legal support request are saved automatically! If you find that you need to pause half-way through completing your intake form, simply exit the page, and the next time you open the Request legal support app, you'll have the option to Use draft or Start again.

For those companies participating in our AI Beta, there may be an extra section dedicated to AI-generated questions for you to answer as part of your request.

Step 6. Once all questions are answered, click Submit. Plexus will automatically allocate and assign matters to the right lawyer or team based on the facts collected at intake.

Step 7. You will then be automatically redirected to view your request.

This view is designed to enhance transparency with your legal team for the duration of your interaction. Read on to find out more.

Plexus will notify you via email when there are key changes or updates to your legal matter. You can also access your matter from the Matters menu in the future.
