Under certain circumstances, it may be in your best interests to put a workflow on hold, or cancel it altogether.

The ability to pause or cancel a workflow is permission-based. With the right permissions, you'll be able to follow these steps to remove your document from the platform.

Step 1. Open the desired document from your Document list.

Step 2. From the resulting page, click the Actions button in the top right hand corner of your screen.

Pausing a workflow

For a workflow that's in progress, you may like to put the document on hold temporarily. To pause a workflow, select Pause workflow.

Once the workflow is paused, the workflow timeline will reflect the change, dependent on the current stage of the workflow.

Top tip! If you need to upload a sub-document to an active workflow, you can upload sub-documents whilst a workflow is paused.

You can resume the workflow when you're ready by clicking the blue action button (ie Send for review) on your timeline.

Cancelling a workflow

Where you would like to keep an audit trail of the actions made on a document to date but no longer require the workflow, instead of deleting a document, you may instead opt to cancel a workflow. From the Actions menu, select Cancel workflow.

The workflow timeline will reflect the change. If you change your mind, you may opt to Restart workflow by clicking the action button on your timeline.

Top tip! Ensure that you've opened the main document from this page. Any sub-documents won't have this button.
