Get your contracts digitally signed with ease, using our powerful integration with the DocuSign eSignature platform. Our integration loops into your Plexus account, eliminating the need to log into an external DocuSign account and making signing contracts a breeze. This article will cover:

Accessing a document to sign

When a document is sent to sign via Plexus, you'll receive an email to let you know. Once you receive a sign request email, you will be able to access and sign your Plexus document from one of three places:

  • The email notification
You can click the Review and sign link in the email to get started

  • The Plexus dashboard
Find and click the the Sign notification on your Plexus Dashboard

  • The document list
Navigate to the correct document from your documents list.

From the document details page, navigate to the correct document from your documents list, and click Sign on the workflow timeline.

Note that external counterparties can only access your document from their email notification.

Using DocuSign to sign a document

Once you've accessed the document in DocuSign, you'll be prompted to Agree to use electronic records and signatures.

Click the checkbox to ensure that you acknowledge this, and click the yellow button to Continue.

Dragging placeholders onto the document

Where a document is sent to you without signature locations included, you will need to drag and drop your signatures onto the correct section on the document.

Note that you won't need to do this step if someone else has already created signature locations on your behalf. If someone has created signature locations on your behalf, you'll be able to click a yellow Start button to toggle to where you need to sign the document instead.

A separate yellow Sign button will highlight where your signing action is required.

Customising your digital signature

Where a yellow signature or initial placeholder exists on the document, click the yellow placeholder to confirm your details and customise your digital signature.

To customise your digital signature, click on the yellow Sign or initial button where prompted. From here, you'll have the ability to:

  • Edit your full name

  • Edit your initials

These two fields will determine your customisation options for your signature and initials. Directly underneath these fields, you'll also see the option to:

  • Select a signature

  • Draw your signature

  • Upload a pre-saved signature from your device

Your adopted signature option will be remembered for each signature and initial required on this specific document.

We'll go through each of these three options below.

Selecting a signature

The Select a signature option allows you to select a signature from a range of pre-determined fonts. Select this option and Change style to customise your signature further.

Select from a range of alternative fonts to customise your digital signature further.

Once you're done, click Adopt and Sign.

Drawing a signature

Alternatively, you may opt to draw your own signature on-screen, using your mouse, trackpad or touchscreen. Click Adopt and sign once you're done.

Uploading a signature

If you have a pre-scanned and saved copy of your signature, you may opt to upload this from your device. Click Upload your signature to find your file, then Adopt and sign to finalise your changes.

Executing a document with eSignature

the following users will be notified via email:

  • Author

  • Nominated owner of the document

  • Internal shared users

  • Signers

You'll be able to download a copy of the digital certificate of completion once a file is fully executed too.
