For business users, getting early clarity on a contract has always been tricky.

Some questions feel too small to raise formally, and others need more context before they're worth escalating. File upload changes that. By uploading files directly into Plexus Counsel, you can explore agreements with AI the moment they land in your inbox — building your understanding before a formal review even begins.

And when you're dealing with more than one agreement at a time, Files lets you analyse them together. Compare terms across vendors. Spot differences between related contracts. Surface what matters most. All in a single conversation.

What Files unlocks for business teams

Files narrows Plexus Counsel's attention to the specific documents you choose. Every question you ask, every insight you receive, is grounded in those agreements — not generic knowledge, but your actual contracts.

This is particularly valuable when you need to:

  • Understand what you're agreeing to. Upload a contract you've just received from a supplier and ask Counsel to break down what it actually means for your team — in plain language, before kicking off a formal review.

  • Compare terms across vendors. Bring in multiple supplier contracts and ask Counsel to surface differences in pricing structures, renewal terms, or what happens if something goes wrong.

  • Catch what doesn't look right. Working across a set of related agreements? Files helps you spot where terms don't match up or where something seems off compared to what you'd expect.

  • Prepare a stronger brief for Legal. When you do submit a matter, you'll already understand the key issues — which means faster turnaround and sharper questions.

What to ask

For business users, file upload works best for the kinds of questions that come up early — the things you'd want to understand before a formal review, or the smaller queries that don't quite justify raising a matter. For example:

  • "Can we get out of this contract early, and what would it cost us?"

  • "What are we on the hook for if something goes wrong?"

  • "When does this auto-renew, and how much notice do we need to give?"

  • "Which of these three suppliers gives us the most flexibility on payment terms?"

  • "Is there anything unusual in here compared to the other agreements we've added?"

  • "Break down this agreement for me — what are the key things I need to know?"

Plexus Counsel grounds every response in the documents you've added to Files, and draws on your organisation's playbooks and policies through Plexus Knowledge — so guidance stays aligned with how your legal team actually operates.

How to upload files into Plexus Counsel

  1. Open Plexus Counsel

  2. Select + Add to upload files directly from your computer.

  3. Ask your question.

Uploaded files stay active for the life of the thread. Remove a document by clicking the X before sending, or start a New thread to reset entirely.

Good to know: Documents uploaded into Files won't appear in your Document list. You can review, question, and explore files freely before committing them to a workflow.

When you're ready to go further

The early exploration you do in Plexus Counsel doesn't replace a formal legal review — it sharpens it. When you're ready to move forward, submit the document into a workflow for review, approval, and execution. You'll already know what to flag, and Legal gets a cleaner, more informed brief.
