Turn off auto-fill for your browser by following these steps

Depending on your browser settings, you may sometimes find that fields within your Plexus apps are being automatically filled in by your computer. Most of the time, this is a really useful feature - when shopping online or completing personal forms, it saves you having to re-type your details.

You may find however, that your details are being populated into Plexus app fields. Whilst this feature is designed to save you time, this is not always useful when filling out a form in Plexus. Read on to prevent this across the most common browsers including:

Internet Explorer and Edge (on PC)


In Internet Explorer, you will want to turn off and clear Autofill data for the best experience.

Turning off Autofill in Internet Explorer

Step 1. Click the Tools menu icon. It looks like a gear at top right of screen.

Step 2. Click Internet Options.

Step 3. Select the Content tab.

Step 4. In the AutoComplete section click Settings.

Step 5. Uncheck forms and user names and passwords.

Step 6. Click OK in the AutoComplete settings window.

Step 7. Click OK in the Internet Options window.

Clearing Autofill data in Internet Explorer

Step 1. Click the Tools menu icon. It looks like a gear at top right of screen.

Step 2. Click Internet options.

Step 3. Select the Content tab.

Step 4. In the AutoComplete section click on Settings.

Step 5. At the bottom of the AutoComplete Settings window, click Delete AutoComplete History.

Step 6. Check the option for Form Data and Passwords.

Step 7. Click Delete.

Step 8. Click OK in the AutoComplete Settings window.

Step 9. Click OK in the Internet Options window.

Note: This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear your browsing history.

Google Chrome (on Mac and PC)


In Google Chrome, you will want to turn off and clear Autofill data.

Turning off Autofill data in Google Chrome

Step 1. Click the Google Chrome menu icon. This is shown via three vertical dots found in the top right hand corner of your screen.

Step 2. Click Settings

Step 3. In the Passwords and Forms section, uncheck Enable Autofill to fill out web forms in a single click

Clearing Autofill data in Google Chrome

Step 1. Click the Google Chrome menu icon. This is shown via three vertical dots found in the top right hand corner of your screen.

Step 2. Click Tools.

Step 3. Select Clear browsing data.

Step 4. At the top, choose The beginning of time option to clear all saved data without a time limit.

Step 5. Ensure that the Clear saved Autofill form data option is checked

Step 6. Click Clear browsing data.

Note: This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear the browsing history.


Mozilla Firefox (on PC)


In Firefox, you will want to turn off and clear Autofill data.

  1. Click on the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at top right of screen.)

  2. Click on Options.

  3. Choose the Privacy icon.

  4. In the History section choose Firefox will: “Use custom settings for history.”

  5. Uncheck “Remember search and form history.”

  6. Click OK

Clearing Autofill data in Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click on the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at top right of screen.)

  2. Click on History

  3. Click on “Clear recent History.”

  4. In the Time Range to Clear drop down, choose “Everything.”

  5. Click on the arrow next to Details to display a list of items to clear.

  6. Make sure “Form & Search History” is checked.

  7. Click Clear Now.

Note: This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear the browsing history. 


Safari (on Mac and PC)


In Safari, you will want to turn off and clear Autofill data.

Step 1. Click on the Safari menu, represented by the word Safari at the top of the screen.

Step 2. Click Preferences.

Step 3. Choose Autofill

Step 4. Uncheck the options for Using info from my Contacts Card/Address Book Card and Other Forms

Step 5. Click Done.

Clearing Autofill Data in Safari

Step 1. Click on the Safari menu, represented by the word Safari at the top of the screen.

Step 2. Click Preferences.

Step 3. Choose Autofill

Step 5. Click Edit next to usernames and passwords.

Step 6. Click Remove all or find any information stored for Plexus and remove it specifically.

Step 7. Click Done.
