When and how are winners to be published?

Winners details are only required to be published for Promotions where the winners are determined by chance.

NATIONAL
Prizes with a value > $250 need to be published in a newspaper or online within 30 days of the draw.

NSW

Winners no longer required to be published in NSW.

VIC
Prizes > $1,000, on a website or in a newspaper. 

In the case of a website, winners’ details must be published for a minimum period of 28 days.

Newspaper publication must be in a newspaper circulating generally in Victoria (and may be a national newspaper, e.g. The Australian).

If promotion only advertised in a particular publication, can announce winners in that publication.

ACT
Prizes > $1,000, in a newspaper or in a publication or medium approved by the lottery dept

Results must also be available within 7 days of being determined

SA
Prizes >$250 the location outlined in the Terms and Conditions within 30 days of the draw, unless winner requests details not be published. Published details must be initial, surname and postcode.

NT
“Major prizes” (e.g., > $5,000), in a local or national newspaper, or another location advised to entrants

QLD, WA, TAS
