The Activity feed is your centralised space for each and every action made against your matter including comments. This guide will focus on:

Note that for lawyers with access to our AI draft advice Beta feature, you may like to review this guide for additional information on viewing draft advice.

Viewing the activity feed

Each matter that's saved in Plexus has a centralised activity feed that keeps track of all key actions related to that request.

All matter activity is timestamped and added to the activity log so that you have a full 360-degree view of key actions or updates to your matter. Key actions that might take place on your matter include:

  • Matter creation

  • Changes to the due date, status, priority or assignees

  • Updates to the description and key facts

  • Updates to supporting material

  • Comments and comment replies

These entries are designed to increase administrative compliance around your matter.

Commenting on the activity feed

You can log all centralised feedback or questions in a free-text field on your activity feed. This allows all stakeholders to communicate with the legal team, and provides a centralised place for legal to communicate official legal advice.

To leave additional comments on the activity log, simply type into the textbox and click Comment in order to submit it.

We've recently enhanced this field so that you can style your text with:

  • Paragraphs and headings

  • Bold text (use the shortcut Command/Control+B)

  • Italicised text (use the shortcut Command/Control+I)

  • Underlined text (use the shortcut Command/Control+U)

  • Coloured text

  • Indented text

  • Bullet and numbered points

  • Links

Note that you can also drag and drop the text-box field in the bottom right hand corner if you need more room to type your response.

Formatting your text with headings

To format your text with headings, choose the desired size from the dropdown, then start writing! Or alternatively, highlight any existing text then choose the desired size from the dropdown. We support options for:

  • Paragraph text

  • Heading 1 (largest heading)

  • Heading 2

  • Heading 3 (smallest heading)

Formatting your text with emphasis

To format your text with bold, italics or underline, choose the desired style from the dropdown, then start writing! Or alternatively, highlight any existing text then choose the desired style button.

Formatting your text with colour

To add colour to your text, choose the desired colour from the dropdown, then start writing! Or alternatively, highlight any existing text then choose the desired colour from the dropdown.

Choose the paint palette for more colour options, or the square with a slash to reset your colours to the default.

Formatting your text with text indents

To format your text with indents, choose the desired level of indentation, then start writing! Note that indentation is incremental, so you can click an indent button multiple times for further indentation.

Once text is indented, you'll also have the option to outdent your text to reverse your changes. Simply hover over the indented text, and select the opposite button to undo your changes.

Formatting your text with bullet points

Plexus supports both numbered and bulleted points. Choose the desired number or bullet point option, then start writing! Remember to click Enter to create a new bullet or number point.

Or alternatively, highlight any existing text then choose the desired bulleted or numbered option. Any new line of text will update to a bullet or numbered list.

Formatting your text with links

Plexus allows you to add non-malicious links to your activity feed.

If you're aiming to paste a hyperlink into the activity feed, start by copying and pasting the link to your body of text, or type the word or phrase that you'd like to hyperlink.

Then highlight the text and click the link icon.

On the resulting page, fill in the following fields:

  • Paste the link once more in the URL field to create the clickable link.

  • Ensure that the Text to display is the text that you've highlighted on the previous screen.

  • Leave the title field empty

  • Determine whether you'd like the link to open in the Current window or a New window.

Click Save. Upon clicking Comment, we'll verify that the link is non-malicious before it's posted.

Copying and pasting information from other sources

As a tip, we recommend copying and pasting information from other sources, such as email, using plain text, and then adding any extra formatting using any of the options above.

To copy and paste without formatting from your computer you can:

  • On a Mac: Type Command+C to copy and Command+Shift+V to paste.

  • On a PC: Type Control+C to copy and Control+Shift+V to paste.

Responding to a comment

Anyone with access to the matter will be able to view and Reply to an existing comment as required.

Once you've finished typing, click Reply again to save your entry.

Editing comments on the activity feed

You can edit your comments and comment replies by clicking the Edit button next to your eligible comments.

Once you've made your changes, click Save to confirm your changes.
