We're thrilled to announce a release of our draft advice feature, which takes information gathered from the Request Legal Support intake form, to provide draft, personalised advice for lawyers to use as a starting point for advising on matters, now supported by additional AI-generated questions for context gathering.

Otherwise, read on for more information.

Viewing draft advice for legal support requests

When a new request is raised in the Request legal support app, for select organisations using the Draft Advice tool, we'll use AI to generate draft advice for lawyers to review.

You will be notified via email when a new matter requires your attention. To view any draft advice, open the matter and view the key facts for the background information that has been used to create the draft advice.

Then click the Draft advice tab to view the AI-generated advice.

Posting advice to the Activity feed

From the Draft advice tab, you will be able to review and edit the draft to ensure you are satisfied that the advice is wholly correct.

When you are satisfied with the response, click Post to activity feed to send the advice as a comment in the Activity feed. Up until this point, the advice is only visible to the Legal team.

Changes to draft advice are not saved until they are posted to the Activity feed.

It is recommended that you make any and all necessary changes before you post your response. If your advice is unedited before you Post to activity feed, we will provide you with a warning ahead of time.

The posted comment will be sent as an email to any key stakeholders on the matter. Therefore, whilst you will be able to Edit your comment after posting to the Activity feed, we cannot guarantee that the advice you post will not be acted upon should you choose to ignore this warning and should any unsuitable advice be included in the initial email notification to the user.

To help make our product better, click the Thumbs up / down icon to rate the helpfulness of the AI-generated advice, providing any additional feedback as necessary.

How do we generate the advice?

The AI-generated draft endeavours to make it quicker and easier for you to respond to a request for advice.

You should review the information provided by the user and edit the draft provided to ensure that you are satisfied that the advice is wholly correct (taking into account all significant information provided) before you publish it for the user. Please note that AI models may generate incorrect, non-compliant, non-standard, inappropriate and incomplete content.

You should not solely rely on any information generated by this feature. The draft was generated using an encrypted connection to OpenAI’s GPT-3 API. The information processed through the API was not retained by OpenAI and cannot be accessed by OpenAI employees or contractors. The information will not be used by OpenAI to train AI models. OpenAI is SOC 2 Type 1 compliant and has been audited by an independent third-party auditor against the 2017 Trust Services Criteria for Security. We have complied with our Terms of Service and privacy policy in relation to the use, processing and disclosure of personal information to provide this service to you.

You can read the Plexus AI Security Factsheet for more information.

Who are the legal team?

The legal teams have the ability to triage matters as a lawyer, including the ability to prioritise matters and assign matters to other users in the system. Whilst regular business users will be able to see the changes, it's only these nominated legal users who can initiate that change.

To designate your legal team members for matter management:

Step 1. Directly under the heading for Legal team, you'll see a list of users. Click the pencil on the right hand side to add any individuals to this list.

Step 2. Then click the tick to save your changes.
