Permit Applications Approval timing:

[last updated 02/09/20]

NSW Authority Applications

NSW Fair Trading is currently taking 2-3 working days to issue a NSW authority from the date of lodgement.

Check if your company has an existing NSW Authority here. NB: refine your search result by category ''Trade Promotion'' to find NSW Authorities.

NB: A NSW notification must be lodged for any NSW trade promotion with prize pool over $10,000 once the NSW Authority is issued. There is no formal approval of a notification request. Once the application is lodged save a copy of the application on file for reference.

3-5 working days from date of lodgement

SA Permit Applications

  • SA (Standard Application): 14 working days

  • SA (Express/Premium Application): 5 working days

โ€‹All timings above apply from the date of submission of the application. These are approximate timings only. The departments may delay approval for promotions:

  • with a high total prize pool

  • involving complex/unique mechanics/legal issues (e.g. betting element)
